At abuzz we respect and protect the privacy of our members and those who use our website. The following privacy statement provides details about how your personal information is collected and used. This privacy statement applies to the abuzz websites, products and services that are located in, but not limited to the abuzz.co.za and abuzz.mobi domains.

Information that is gathered from visitors

In common with other websites, log files are stored on the web server saving details such as the visitor's IP address, browser type, referring page and time of visit.

Cookies may be used to remember visitor preferences when interacting with the website.

Information that is gathered from members

Personal information are gathered by means of online or paper Membership Registration Forms. Notice is given at the point of collection to enable users to choose whether or not they consent to the usage terms. Those who have signed up and subsequently wish to withdraw their participation may opt-out of receiving future communications at any time (see the choice/opt-out section below). 

How the Information is used

We use the information collected during registration to provide the contracted services and send information about our company and our products and services.

The information collected when visiting the website is used to enhance the visitor's experience when using the website to display personalised content and possibly advertising.

Personal information will not be sold, rented, leased or made available in any way to 3rd parties.

Choice/ Opt-out

If you have subscribed to one of our services, you may unsubscribe by following the instructions which are included in communication that you receive.

You may be able to block cookies via your browser settings but this may prevent you from access to certain features of the website.

Information Collection and Use by Communities

You may be asked to provide certain personal information to Communities in connection with their use of our products and services. If you choose to provide personal information to one of our Communities, you should review the individual privacy policy of that community.

Additionally, we use internal and external resources to review the adequacy of our security procedures.

The contracts prohibit them from using any of your personal information for their own purposes, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of the information we provide to them. Access to Personal Information

You can update your account information, including your organizational information and email address, by logging in and then clicking on the My Billing page/icon.

The My Billing page is also where you can manage product subscriptions and billing information.

Some of our sites provide links to third-party websites, such as those of our business partners. While on these sites, abuzz or its partners may collect information about you. Because abuzz does not control the information policies or practices of these third parties, you should review their privacy policies to learn more about how they collect and use personally identifiable information.

If we decide to change our privacy policy in any material way, we will post those changes on the abuzz websites so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
